Healing Through Horses: Mind-Body-Spirit

A Trauma-Sensitive Program for Human Healing

Trauma lives in the body—but so does healing.

Let the horses show you the way back.

This is not equine therapy in the traditional sense.

This is something softer, slower, and more sacred.

Healing Through Horses is a gentle, trauma-informed program designed to support people healing from emotional trauma, grief, anxiety, PTSD, or nervous system overwhelm. Through intentional time spent in the calming presence of horses—combined with guided movement, breathwork, and journaling—you’ll begin to reconnect with your body and your inner wisdom.

You don’t need horse experience. You don’t even need words.

You just need a willingness to show up, breathe, and let the horses meet you where you are.

Why Horses?

Horses are nonjudgmental, deeply intuitive beings.

They mirror what is true without agenda. When we slow down with a horse—on the ground, in stillness—we often begin to feel emotions that have been buried for years. Horses help us:

• Feel safe in our bodies again

• Recognize and release stored tension

• Practice healthy boundaries and connection

• Experience unconditional presence

• Rebuild trust—with ourselves and others

They hold space without fixing.

They model embodiment without speaking.

And they invite us to come home to ourselves.

What a Session Looks Like

Each session is customized based on your emotional, physical, and energetic needs. A typical session may include:

• Gentle time with a horse (no riding required)

• Observing or interacting from the ground

• Guided breathwork or grounding exercises

• Light yoga, stretching, or nervous system regulation practices

• Journaling and self-reflection

• Quiet presence in nature

All sessions are one-on-one, private, and entirely trauma-sensitive. You’ll never be pushed, rushed, or forced to perform. You get to choose your level of participation at all times.

Who This Is For

This program is for you if:

• You’ve experienced trauma, grief, PTSD, or chronic stress

• You’re feeling disconnected from your body or emotions

• Talk therapy hasn’t fully helped—or you’re looking for something deeper

• You’re drawn to animals and feel safe in their presence

• You’re ready to explore healing through embodiment, not just conversation

You do not need to have horse experience, yoga experience, or be physically “fit.”

You are welcome exactly as you are.

Program Format & Booking Options

You can begin with a single exploratory session or commit to a 4- or 6-session healing series.

Programs are offered in Washoe Valley and are scheduled by appointment.

• Intro Session (75 min): $125

• 4-Session Series: $440

• 6-Session Deep Dive: $630

Sliding scale may be available. Please ask.



Is This For Me?

You do not need any experience with horses to benefit from this work. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just want to reconnect with yourself, this space is for you.

This work might be a good fit if:

   •   You’re feeling stressed, anxious, or disconnected

   •   You’re going through a big life change or healing from trauma

   •   You’ve tried talk therapy and want something more body-based

   •   You feel drawn to horses, even if you’ve never worked with them

   •   You want to slow down, breathe, and feel more grounded

This is a safe, gentle, and supportive space. Come as you are — no pressure, no judgment.

Not at all! Many people who come to this work have never been around horses. I will guide you every step of the way — your comfort and safety come first. 


Each session is unique, but often includes:

Grounding & breathwork

Gentle interaction or observation with the horse

Reflection, movement, or silence — whatever feels supportive

You don’t need to do anything special — just come as you are.


Nope! All sessions are done from the ground.

This work is about energetic presence, not riding. Many clients experience deep healing simply by being in the horse’s field.


While deeply therapeutic, this is not clinical talk therapy.

It’s a somatic (body-based), experiential modality that can support trauma healing, regulation, and reconnection in profound ways.


Wear something comfy and weather-appropriate.

Closed-toe shoes are a must (boots are best!), and bring water and an open heart. 


That’s completely normal — many people feel that way.

The space I offer is calm, safe, and consent-based. You’re always in control, and the horses will meet you with pure, non-judgmental presence.
